Frequently Asked Questions

TECHNICAL

    1. Max. 30 m of pipes (internal diameter 20mm) between boiler (or heat pump) and shower.

You can verify this by opening the hot water at 100%. If less than 10L of cold water comes out before it turns warm, you can enjoy the instant hot water technology. Not the case? Contact us for a tailored product.

    2. The incoming hot water should have a temperature of at least 55°C. This is the minimal temperature according to regulation.

    3. The operating pressure should be between 2 and 6 bar.

  • No, the Shower fix and Therm-eau fix are designed to be 'plug-and-play'. Thanks to the pre-assembly and our clear manual and installation video, any DIY enthusiast can complete the installation themselves.

  • Yes. Thanks to the access via the soap niche (or another hatch), we can always reach the components without damaging the tiles or the wall. Furthermore, we offer an 8-year warranty on the technology for your peace of mind.

  • Upon purchasing the products, you will receive a warranty certificate entitling you to an 8-year warranty.

  • Yes. The instant hot water technology is an add-on that eliminates wait times and water waste; it requires incoming hot water of at least 55°C.

  • Even though you can enjoy instant warm water without electricity during regular use, connecting the heating element to power (via a 12V adapter) gives you unlimited hot water anytime you need it.

  • The water pressure should be between 2 and 6 bar. In most countries, this is the case in almost every household.

  • The heau valve is equipped with a mesh filter that catches limescale particles. You can easily reach the filters via the soap niche to clean them, for example, with white vinegar, to ensure optimal performance.

  • An industry standard 1/2″ thread connector with hot and cold water is required.

  • Perform the "bucket test": turn the hot tap on fully and catch the water in a 10-liter bucket. Does the water get hot before the bucket overflows? If so, the standard technology is suitable. If the bucket overflows and the water is still cold, please contact us for a custom solution.

  • No, it is not mandatory. The technology comes pre-mounted on the Therm-eau fix. However, the Shower fix frame is specifically designed to make installation in the shower area as simple as possible.

  • Yes, this is fresh water coming directly from your boiler or heat pump.

  • Yes, your safety is our top priority. To ensure safe showering conditions, we conducted extensive testing in collaboration with certified research facilities. In accordance with NEN1006 guidelines, a minimum hot water temperature of 55°C must be maintained. Operating at lower temperatures may cause issues throughout the hot water system.

USAGE

  • Relax and enjoy! During the first days, the water in the Therm-eau reservoir will slowly cool down (approx. 5°C per 24h). Once the water temperature drops below 42°C, the heating element switches on to ensure you can enjoy your instant hot water upon return!

  • Yes. During the first few days of non-use, the water in the Therm-eau reservoir will cool down slowly (approx. 5°C per 24 hours). As soon as the water temperature drops below 42°C, the heating element activates, ensuring you have instant hot water as soon as you return to your holiday home.

  • Yes, you can. In practice, the two outputs of the module are connected with a T-joint, from which the pipes run to the two separate mixing taps. Learn more

  • Certainly. If the shower and bath are located close to each other, one module can serve both. In this case, we also use a T-connector to split the water to the different taps. Learn more

  • As you wish. Thanks to its high-performance insulation, the water temperature in the reservoir decreases by only 5°C every 24 hours. This means you can still enjoy instant hot water for up to about 3 days after your last shower, without active heating. Once the water temperature drops below 42°C, the heating element automatically switches on to reheat the water.

  • Yes. When you choose a cold shower, the heau system simply remains inactive and does not release any stored energy. The hot water is preserved and ready for your next warm shower.

  • Yes, you can. The Therm-eau fix and Shower fix are compatible with finishes from other brands, including Blaufoss, Grohe and Hansgrohe. A removable soap niche ensures access to all internal components.

  • We strongly recommend the soap niche, as it serves as an access panel. Should maintenance ever be required, the niche provides direct access to the technology without the need for demolition. If you have access via another route (e.g., through a cupboard in the adjacent room or another hatch), that is, of course, sufficient.

  • Yes. The module does not have to be positioned directly behind the tap, it can also be installed next to the shower or on an adjacent (perpendicular) wall. Learn more

  • Heau makes no compromise regarding durability and only uses top materials that are also recyclable.
